Hi. My name is Vitaly. You’re on my website, dedicated to my music project “Партитуры тьмы” (Scores of darkness).
This project is entirely instrumental. I would describe the genre of this music as Symphonic Melodic Black/Death Metal, although there may be differing interpretations. I am handling the composition, recording, mixing, and visual design for this project all by myself.
My desire to create music in this genre first arose back in the mid-2000s. At that time, I was listening to Graveworm, Dark Lunacy, Darkane, Gloria Morti, and similar bands. I also became fascinated with classical music. I have no formal musical education; I taught myself by listening to symphonies, reading textbooks, and trying my hand at composing. It was just a hobby.
It wasn’t until after 2020 that I seriously realized I wanted to write an album. Several of the compositions are based on material I developed in the 2000s. After many attempts at composition, I finally developed a vision for my own style—a symbiosis of metal and symphonic music.
In the album, I use instrumental musical forms, such as sonata form in the track “Не иди за светом (Don’t Follow the Light)” and scherzo in the track “Сон мракобеса (The Dream of the Dark One)”. The album also features thematic development throughout; for example, a theme from the introduction is developed in the tracks “Да приидет свет (Let There Be Light)” and “Outro.” Similarly, the track “Да приидет свет” incorporates themes from the tracks “Не иди за светом” and “Там, где свет - всюду грех (Where There Is Light, There Is Sin Everywhere)".
